NOMINEE FOR TRADE FACILITATION COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITION

TWO YEAR AGENDA PROPOSAL

Trade Facilitation Committee of AmCham has already accomplished establishment of the National Coordination Body for Trade Facilitation, that gathers all relevant state institutions for imports and exports and private sector representatives. Through this body we have a new platform to push for and achieve more streamlined, transparent, uniformly implemented and coordinated procedures of different authorities for import and export of goods, aimed at improving efficiency while safeguarding legitimate regulatory objectives.

I believe that we should leverage and position AmCham as a driver of the agenda of the topic specific Working Groups of the National Coordination Body for Trade Facilitation with the aim of resolution of key non-tariff barriers AmCham membership face.

Therefore, I would propose the following focuses of our activities:
  • Improving procedures applicable for import and export of foodstuffs allowing for more efficient and effective controls based on the risk assessment principle.
  • Improving regulatory framework and its implementation in the area of chemicals and cosmetics
  • Providing private sector feedback and facilitating implementation of electronic procedures in the work of the Customs Administration.
If elected, I would devote my knowledge, experience and network, established from working both in the Government and the private sector, to furthering our goals and achieving faster and easier foreign trade procedures in Serbia.

  2. Positioning AmCham priorities on the annual agendas of the working groups;
  3. Influencing amendments of priority regulations adopted by the end of 2018 in line with priority recommendations of AmCham.
