NIS to Finance Local Organizations in Eleven Serbian Cities

As part of the special program “Zajednici zajedno”, NIS has organised a public competition, open until September 8th, to finance projects in partnership with local government authorities.

The competition will be open to all civil society organizations, local communities and city municipalities around the country, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Čačak, Niš, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Srbobran, Žitište and Novi Bečej. NIS will finance up to 5 projects in each city, as well as supporting other projects up to a cost of 110.5 million dinars.

The competition will cover 5 different areas: science/education, social security, public health, culture, sport and ecology. Local government authorities will have the opportunity to pick three of these, depending on the community’s interest and needs, with a limit of one project per organization in the capacity of project holder.

The competition winner will be chosen by a panel consisting of representatives of NIS and local government, with the results to be announced on 13th October 2017. The competition rules and all proposals will be available at NIS has supported cities and municipalities for the past 9 years, investing a total of 900 million dinars and supporting 846 developments through its main project “Zajednici zajedno“.
