Women in Business: UniCredit Bank Serbia and EBRD support women entrepreneurship
UniCredit Bank Serbia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have organized in Belgrade the first in a series of seminars that are an integral part of the Women in Business program aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises run by women.
A seminar entitled "My Business in Numbers: How to Manage Finance Effectively" attracted more than forty women from Belgrade and the surrounding area. Chairwoman of the Executive Board of UniCredit Bank Serbia, Chila Ihas, and Director of the EBRD Office for Serbia, Daniel Berg, together with renowned lecturers and financial experts, provided insight for seminar participants on how to improve their financial management. In addition, guests also had the opportunity to become familiar with best practice examples regarding management of working capital, cash flows, inflows, revenues and expenses. At this event, women entrepreneurs heard tips on how to measure the financial performance of their company and, accordingly, make financial decisions. In addition, they also presented a diagnostic tool, Business Lens, which can help them to see the strengths and weaknesses of their business and, most importantly, the opportunities for further development.
At the end of the official part of the seminar, women entrepreneurs had a valuable opportunity to expand their network of business contacts, meet other women who are dealing with business in Serbia and exchange knowledge and experience.
The Women in Business program was presented in June this year. The program will provide € 5 million for lending to small and medium-sized enterprises run by women. The money was provided by the EBRD, and UniCredit Bank Serbia will use these funds to increase the lending of the company
