AmCham Serbia and VISA host a business after-hours cocktail.
More than 120 guests from AmCham member companies and Visa corporate clients came together to mark the 40th anniversary of Visa’s first payment card issued in Serbia.
Welcoming the attendees, Stefan Lazarević, Chairman of the AmCham Bord of Directors, congratulated Visa on this jubilee and highlighted its recent contributions to AmCham, in particular its co-sponsorship of the conference on innovative approaches to combating illicit trade held in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, where Vladimir Đorđević, Visa Country Manager for Southeastern Europe, moderated a panel on trends in e-commerce that discussed how digital payments can help tackle the shadow economy and presented examples of successful co-operation between the public and the private sector in this regard.
Vladimir Đorđević noted that this AmCham event was the first in a line of gatherings planned by Visa to mark its anniversary. ‘Visa will continue to improve its innovations in Southeastern Europe to enable faster and more secure payments, including the development of mobile apps and digital wallets that facilitate trade and transactions across the region’, concluded Đorđević.
