The Labour Regulations Committee of the AmCham organized a Round Table dedicated to the implementation of the new regulations regarding the employment of foreigners. The focus of the discussion was on the practical aspects related to the application of the foreigners act and the law on the employment of foreigners, particularly emphasizing the procedural aspects of obtaining a unified permit.
Key attendees at the AmCham event included representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Employment Service, and the Office for IT and eGovernance.
During the discussion, specific attention was given to various forms of foreign employment, the procedure for obtaining a unified permit, the conditions and limitations imposed by the new regulations, and the expanded responsibilities of state authorities. Participants were also introduced to the current services and functionalities of the new portal for foreigners, „Welcome to Serbia,“ designed as a one-stop-shop for foreign nationals, with full implementation expected by September.
The Round Table provided participants with the opportunity to pose questions and express their views, fostering an interactive discussion on the practical challenges arising from the implementation of the new regulations in practice.
Following the conclusion of the event, participants expressed satisfaction with the chance to directly engage with representatives of key government bodies, contributing to increased transparency and understanding of the new regulations among all stakeholders. It is anticipated that further collaboration between the private and public sectors will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the new regulations on the employment of foreigners in the country.
