Family-run companies, finding and keeping motivation, and getting ready for the semi-finals case study
A new set of AmChamps activities was devoted to how family companies operate and why motivation can help overcome failure and achieve success. A case study workshop also allowed the participants to learn more about the significance of sound analysis for business and kick-started their preparations for the programme’s semi-finals.
The Family Business presentation was delivered by Diana Gligorijević, who co-founded TeleGroup, and Aleksandar Vratonjić Gligorijević, head of marketing at the firm and successor to the first generation of the family in the business. The lecture helped the participants find out more about the differences between family-run and other companies and how business is passed on from one generation to the next whilst maintaining performance levels and achieving fresh success.
In his presentation on Finding and Keeping Motivation, Ivan Stanković, owner of communications company Communis, highlighted his own experiences and approach to motivation and explained why failure was at the heart of success and how to cope well with both. Suggesting that motivation came from getting to know oneself, Ivan told the participants to be brave in taking on opportunities that seem challenging, because that was the quickest way to find fulfilling and motivating work.
The Case Study Tips & Tricks workshop reminded the participants they were also competing against one another, offering them the first foretaste of what lay in store in the semi-finals. The workshop was facilitated by Nikola Marković, CFO at retailer Gomex and ECSC Co-ordinator, as well as AmChamps alumnus, together with Filip Branović, his mentee in the programme. The participants were able to learn more about case studies as a key tool for analysing company operations and a practical means for understanding prospective opportunities and challenges in the market.
The next event, scheduled for late April, will see the participants spend quality time together at the OTP Training Centre on Lake Palić.
