The seminar “e-Invoicing System: How to organize your business processes” was held in AmCham in cooperation with PwC Serbia. PwC Serbia professionals discussed with representatives from over 40 member companies the impact of the e-Invoicing System (SEF) on their internal business processes – since the start of 2023 it became mandatory for issuance, receipt of invoices in transactions among all VAT payers in Serbia, including reporting VAT via SEF.
The system of electronic invoices is among the most current issues in the economic environment of Serbia from 2021. Since its full implementation for the public and private sector, the business community has faced many questions and challenges that the implementation of the e-invoicing system introduces in their internal business processes.
The private sector has to adapt to a comprehensive system of digitalization of business processes, invoice approval/rejection procedures, management of VAT deductibility, considering legal framework, current accounting processes, and necessary adjustments to requirements of the e-Invoices System.
PwC Serbia professionals shared experiences on key challenges faced by companies, provided answers to questions and uncertainties in this area, and gave practical guidelines on how best to organize internal processes for the efficient implementation of the e-Invoice System.
