Discovering the promise of the subconscious, motivation, and creativity
A fresh set of AmChamps 009 activities allowed the participants to get to know neuromarketing, a new take on marketing, and learn about the importance of innovation and creativity in today’s business world. The final presentation, Positive Motivation, gave them a chance to hear a life story, inspiring the attendees to re-examine their views of obstacles and determination.
The Neuromarketing presentation was held by Dr Nikolaos Dimitriadis, Professor at CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. He spoke about research into this new approach to marketing, based on measuring and analysing brain impulses to investigate initial reactions to products or advertisements. The participants were able to find out more about how our brains make decisions and what role our consciousness plays in this process, as well as how these insights can inform marketing strategies.
The Innovation and Creativity lecture, delivered by Miša Lukić, Founder and CEO at New Startegy, used engaging examples to showcase how tiny changes in outlook can bring about major innovations. Miša’s take on creativity was that everyone had it in themselves, and that new perspectives on everyday things were needed to spark a fresh start.
The last session, Positive Motivation, was a conversation with Serbian paratriathlete Lazar Hadži Filipović, moderated by AmChamps alumnus Marko Račić of Algotech. The participants had a chance to learn about Lazar’s successes on the Serbian paralympic team and how he finds motivation to overcome the obstacles he has had to face. The AmChamps spoke about what motivated and what discouraged them and learnt how to better deal with challenges.
The next set of AmChamps sessions is scheduled to take place in late March.
