Strategy and leadership skills pave the way to achieving objectives in today’s business world
The AmChamps 009 program continued with another set of presentations and new opportunities for participants to get to know one another. On this occasion the focus was on management types, namely strategy models in response to external changes, threats, and opportunities, and leadership as a way of meeting one’s internal needs for improvement, pushing the envelope, and achieving business objectives together with the broader team.
The Strategy Models workshop, delivered by Miro Smolović, Director at the PWC Academy, highlighted the impact of the exponential growth of technologies, innovations, and communications on business model strategizing and how this has made long-term planning more difficult. Real-world company strategies were used as examples to shed light on the applicability, advantages, and shortcomings of the various models and to call attention to the golden rule of today’s strategic thinking: make five-year plans every year.
In the Leadership session, Svetoslav Atanasov, CEO of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia & Montenegro, presented his long-standing leadership experiences, the challenges posed by the role, and his own path to the highest managerial positions at Coca-Cola. Responding to participants’ questions, Svetoslav mentioned his own moments of doubt and how he was able to overcome them by working hard, learning, and being committed and persevering in achieving his objectives.
The next round of lectures and workshops is scheduled for early April.
