
New chief executive will take up post on 1 April 2023
According to MediGroup, the appointment of Marijana Vasilescu has re-affirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining its leading position in the Serbian private healthcare sector.
The key role played by MediGroup in Serbia’s market means the company has the duty to help improve the entire private healthcare industry, said Ms Vasilescu. She added her team would continue investing in cutting-edge equipment and professional development of both doctors and technical staff.
‘It is a great honour to take on the role of new CEO of the largest private healthcare system in the region. I am grateful to my predecessor for bequeathing me a system that is synonymous with quality medical services in Serbia. At the same time, this position brings a great deal of responsibility, but also motivation to keep raising the bar in terms of standards and innovations in our industry. Introducing the most modern treatments and maintaining a high quality of service will remain the key to the development of the MediGroup system. I really hope that my experience in corporate and financial sector will contribute to MediGroup achieving all goals and further growth’, said Marijana Vasilescu.
Before assuming the position of CEO at MediGroup, Ms Vasilescu served in key managerial positions at Sberbank. Until 2022 she was CEO of Sberbank Czech Republic, while from 2013 to 2021 she served on the Executive Board of Sberbank Serbia, both as member and as chairwoman.
Ms Vasilescu graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest with a master’s degree in business and marketing. She also holds an Executive MBA from London Business School.
