Inspire – Analyze – Innovate
AmChamps – Future Leaders is a unique professional development program initiated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia in 2014. The idea behind it is to assist in the refinement and development of young talents – leaders who will guide the business community in Serbia – through the synergy of the academic and corporate sectors.
WHAT DOES AMCHAMPS OFFER?
THE TRANSFORMATIONAL PATH OF LEADERSHIP –
WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?
The program consists of three key phases: I. Learning through competition (regular part, for all participants), II. Designing a project for the semifinals (semifinals, for the top 10 ranked pairs), and III. Company task for the finals (finals, for the top 3 pairs).
I. INSPIRE: Regular Part – Learning through competition (November 2023 – May 2024)
The regular part comprises a series of lectures, workshops, challenging tasks, and enjoyable activities during which participants develop teamwork and acquire knowledge, skills, and valuable experience.
Throughout various activities, AmChamps pairs build their mentorship relationship. Additionally, managers will provide their mentees, the students, with at least a month-long internship in their company while attending coaching sessions themselves with a special consultant.
Participants accumulate points for different activities, and the top 10 pairs with the highest scores advance to the next phase – the semifinals. Upon completing the regular part of the program and attending a minimum of 70% of the scheduled activities, participants receive certificates of successful program completion. Lectures, workshops, and other AmChamps activities during the regular part of the program will be organized on average two to three times per month, on workdays, from 10 AM to 6 PM, in person.
II. ANALYZE: Semifinals – Designing a project (June 2024)
After the inspirational learning through competition, the top 10 ranked pairs proceed to the next phase of the program – the semifinals. In this phase, participants receive a project task that involves applying their analytical skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Semifinalists present their task solutions at a semifinal event.
III. INNOVATE: Finals – Company task (July – October 2024)
The three pairs that best design and present their semifinalprojects move on to the final phase of the program. At this point, managers receive a task from the CEOs of their companies – solving a real business challenge. Together with the students, they develop this task under the mentorship of three members of the AmCham Board of Governors. Throughout the project, pairs work with all three mentors, who evaluate their progress. The pair that designs, prepares, and presents their project the best, as assessed by the mentors, will be declared the program’s winner.
