Income grows by 15.8 percent year-on-year
‘In the first quarter of 2023, Atlantic Grupa recorded strong growth in all business and distribution units and in all significant markets. The prices of raw materials and packaging materials, logistics and other services and energy are still at high levels, which, as we announced, led to a drop in profitability. The drop in profitability was partially mitigated by optimizing internal resources and increasing the selling prices of our products’, said Emil Tedeschi, CEO of Atlantic Grupa.
The highest growth rate, of 32.2 percent, was registered by the sweet and salted snacks strategic business unit, where Smoki and Najlepše Želje are the leading brands. This improvement was driven by range optimization, intensified marketing activities and better price positioning of the products compared to the competition. The beverages segment, dominated by the Cedevita brand including the new Cedevita vitamin-enriched water, came second, with growth of 20 percent, whilst the Donat strategic business unit recorded growth of 15.7 percent.
Principal brands accounted for 27.5 percent of all Atlantic Grupa sales, the Farmacia pharmacy chain made up 9.2 percent, whereas own brands accounted for 63.3 percent of all sales revenue. Coffee was the largest single category, standing at 20.4 percent of overall sales revenue.
In the first half of the year Atlantic Grupa reached an agreement with Podravka whereby Atlantic will distribute Podravka products in the Austrian market, whilst Podravka is to assume responsibility for distributing the Atlantic range in the US.
