Atlantic Grupa set to acquire owner of Doncafe and C Kafa brands
Atlantic Grupa has submitted a binding offer that Strauss Adriatic has accepted. The binding offer is based on a total transaction value of 40.5 million euros.
Alongside the well-known brands Doncafe and C Kafa, which are set to join regional leaders Grand Kafa and Barcaffe in the Atlantic portfolio, Atlantic Grupa is to gain a cutting-edge production facility employing 220 staff in the Šimanovci industrial park near Belgrade, Serbia.
‘Atlantic Grupa is the largest coffee producer in South-Eastern Europe and a growth leader in this category, so this acquisition is fully in line with our strategic commitment to strengthening our core business. Once the Competition Commission has approved this purchase, I will be happy to welcome Doncafe, C Kafa, and our future co-workers who will join them in our system’, said Mate Štetić, Group Vice President for Coffee and Snacks at Atlantic Grupa.
Atlantic Grupa intends to make a substantial investment in growing its coffee business, in particular targeting production, technology, brands, product portfolio, and communications, across both the retail and the HoReCa segment. The company will base its growth strategy on developing key product categories (coffee, chocolates and snacks, delicatessen spreads, and soft drinks) and acquiring compatible brands.
