MPC Properties’ Contribution to Decarbonization and a More Sustainable Ecosystem
More than 50 representatives from AmCham member companies attended the second consecutive visit as part of the “Meet the ESG Champions” caravan. MPC Properties presented innovative projects implemented within the UŠĆE Shopping Center and the UŠĆE Towers office buildings.
In a brief presentation, it was highlighted how the principles of sustainability are integrated into the development, construction, and management of business facilities by MPC Properties. It was also explained how this company became the first holder of the “WELL Health-Safety” certificate in Serbia.
Following the presentation, under the expert guidance of architects and engineers responsible for implementing various innovative and sustainable solutions within the UŠĆE Shopping Center and UŠĆE Towers office buildings, the company’s work and contribution to reducing the emission footprint were presented in more detail. This includes solar power plants on the roof of one of the buildings, technical aspects, and the impact of reducing energy consumption through an ice bank, sustainable gardens with beehives, and a planned urban vegetable garden, alternative chargers for ecological vehicles, the latest machine for composting organic materials, and other innovations.
In May of this year, in cooperation with the consulting firm Kearney, AmCham conducted a survey on the application of ESG principles and standards in the local context among its members. This visit is a recognition of MPC Properties as one of the leading companies when it comes to the implementation of ESG principles with best practices in the Serbian market. Their experience in overcoming the challenges that the application of ESG principles brings is an inspiration and a guide for other companies.
