Microsoft launches Global Skilling Initiative

By AmCham  Published On 15/07/2021
Around the world, 2020 has emerged as one of the most challenging years in many of our lifetimes. In one year, the world has endured multiple challenges, including a pandemic that has spurred a global economic crisis. Increasingly, one of the key steps needed to foster a safe and successful economic recovery is expanded access to the digital skills needed to fill new jobs.
‘Microsoft’s mission is to empower each individual and organisation to achieve more. To that end, we have received support from the Government of Serbia and educational institutions and partnered with Semos Education to design an open digital education programme for 10 of the most in-demand occupations, with particular emphasis on IT skills and Serbian-language training sessions’, said Milan Gospić, the company’s Country Manager Serbia.
Microsoft seeks to motivate as many people as possible in Serbia to join this initiative, so the programme will offer Serbians mentoring from certified trainers, free training, and certification.
