DELASOL is the country’s largest solar generation facility using bifacial solar cells
The central Serbian town of Lapovo saw the opening of DELASOL, the largest solar park in the country that uses advanced bifacial solar cells. The facility, which cost 9 million euros, was constructed by the company MT Komex with funding from ProCredit Bank and boasts some 18,000 solar panels extending over 12.5 hectares.
ProCredit Bank has been working with MT Komex for ten years. In 2013, the two partnered to build Serbia’s pioneering solar parks, when ProCredit funded the SOLARIS 1 facility in Kladovo, followed by SOLARIS 2 in 2014.
‘Our partnership with MT Komex came naturally, as the company was among the first to recognise the need for, and the benefits of, investing in renewables, whilst ProCredit Bank was one of the first lenders in the region to finance sustainable projects, serving as initiator, trainer, and partner for many green transition initiatives. Over the past ten years, we’ve invested several hundred million dollars in our clients’ environmentally friendly projects’, Igor Anić, Chairman of the Executive Board at ProCredit Bank.
