The conference will bring together more than 90 representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Ministries of Internal Affairs, customs and tax authorities, inspection and other state authorities responsible for combating illicit trade and protecting intellectual property rights, as well as business representatives from five countries in the region: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia. During this event, participants will exchange best practices in enforcing and coordinating oversight of the informal economy, share experiences of public-private cooperation in combating illegal trade, and discuss the potential for further development of interstate collaboration. The topics covered during the conference will include the implementation of a tracking and tracing system for excise products, control over the misuse of intellectual property rights and software piracy, as well as digital payment methods as tools to combat the informal economy.
