A roundtable dedicated to the practical implementation of the Law on Electronic Consignment Notes was held at the AmCham premises, addressing the upcoming transition that will fully replace paper documentation in domestic business operations.
According to the Law, the public sector and private companies involved in the movement of excise goods will be required to switch to digital consignment notes starting January 1, 2026, while the obligation will apply to all other businesses from October 1, 2027. This means that manufacturing, trade, transport, and logistics companies will need to implement e-consignment systems and digitalize their processes in line with the new regulations.
The discussion focused on practical challenges and uncertainties, both from the perspective of companies that will be the first to apply the new rules and those that will be most affected by the regulation.
The panel featured Julijana Čubrilo, Senior Tax Manager at PwC Serbia, and Đorđe Đorđević, Senior Consultant at PwC Serbia, while the discussion was moderated by Dragana Cvetković, Chair of AmCham Serbia’s Trade Facilitation Committee.
The roundtable once again highlighted the importance of open dialogue between the business community, experts, and regulatory bodies to ensure companies have clear guidance and support throughout the process of digital business transformation.
