Tara National Park recently hosted a two-day study visit organized by AmCham Serbia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the support of Sweden and the European Union through the “EU for Green Agenda in Serbia” project. The event brought together representatives from 20 companies, five protected areas, state institutions, the civil sector, and donor organizations, all with the goal of strengthening cooperation in the field of nature conservation.
During their stay in Tara, participants had the opportunity to directly learn about the challenges and projects related to protecting endangered species and habitats, which are being implemented by expert teams from protected area management bodies. A special focus was placed on identifying potential avenues for private sector involvement through financial and expert support.
For companies, these types of gatherings represent a valuable opportunity to concretely contribute to sustainable development goals and enhance their own corporate social responsibility policies.
This study visit to Tara is part of ongoing activities that connect the business sector with the nature protection system—following previous visits to Uvac and Palić—and represents another step towards long-term, partnership-based cooperation in preserving Serbia’s natural resources.
A big thank you to all participants for their dedication and shared energy in creating concrete solutions for a sustainable future.
