Typhoon HIL has developed UEGOS, a universal operating system that permits aggregation and control of all distributed energy sources and smart devices, improving efficiency whilst cutting costs.
Serbia’s winner will represent the country in the international finals of the PowerUp! Challenge, where it will compete for a 50,000 euro prize and investment valued at between 150,000 and several million euros.
UEGOS is based on Python and Linux and is easy to install via USB or from a cloud location onto existing or new infrastructure. The technology behind UEGOS is tried and tested, implemented, and ready to use.
‘Our device allows the user to control large producers, instead of paying power grids’ exorbitant prices. We can control what we already have. For instance, the solution allows you to let an electric car stop charging for a while to save energy’, says Typhoon HIL’s Aleksandar Kavgić.
The PowerUp! Challenge contest was held online, reflecting how much business patterns have changed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘I think we in the IT sector find it easier because we work from home on our computers, but other industries are running up losses and some firms may not be able to continue trading’, Kavgić added. ‘Industry will embrace solutions that can address existing problems or quickly boost user numbers. The pandemic has opened new doors for us, but has caused much trouble for highly specialised companies’, he concluded.
