AmCham office hosts welcome reception for new members
Offices of AmCham Serbia hosted a welcoming cocktail for representatives of 40 new member companies that joined the organisation from 2020 to early 2022. In a relaxed and casual setting, the new firms had the opportunity to share their impressions of what it was like being part of the AmCham community and what they expected and sought to achieve as members.
The new member companies were also able to meet members of the Board of Governors, the Executive Team, and staff of the US Embassy in Serbia.
Addressing the gathering, Stefan Lazarević, President of the AmCham Board of Governors, noted that 23 new members had joined the association in 2021 alone, which ended the year with a record 216 member firms. ‘The healthiest segment of our economy, including American, Serbian, and multinational firms, has come together under the AmCham umbrella. To date, we’ve invested more than 14 billion euros in our country, and we directly employ 99,000 people. In 2020 alone, our members registered turnover exceeding 12 billion euros. These numbers reveal both our strength and the importance of our commitment, which we have successfully maintained and defended year after year’.
Vera Nikolić Dimić, AmCham Executive Director, recalled the three pillars of AmCham – improving the business environment, networking and promotion, and excelling professional development – adding she believed each of the new members would find activities in those three areas that best suited their interests and needs.
