Module 6 of the AmChamps Educational Program Held at MSD
The opening lecture was delivered by Nebojša Škuljec, Executive Director for Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro at MSD, and Sandra Marinković, Director of External Affairs for the same region. The topic of the lecture was “Local Market, Global Ambitions: Leadership Through the Launch of a Pharmaceutical Product.” Through their discussion, they highlighted the challenges and opportunities of running a pharmaceutical business in a local context with global goals, as well as the perspective of working in a multinational company.
Afterward, Amalija Pavić, Deputy Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, addressed the participants, speaking on the topic of public advocacy and the importance of advocacy for the economy and society. Speaking about public advocacy, Amalija emphasized the difference between proactive and reactive actions in collaboration between the private sector and government authorities.
The central part of the event was the Strategy Models workshop, led by Miro Smolović, advisor at PWC Academy and founder of EDU Studio. The workshop focused on business strategy models and their application to different businesses. Miro distinguished between internal and external analyses, as well as the strategies applied to a company’s specific product.
In the next part of the program, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Uroš Živković, Program Director of the Return Point initiative, who spoke about the reasons and obstacles for the return of experts from the diaspora. Uroš offered participants a different perspective from the usual narrative – instead of discussing the reasons for leaving the country, he focused on the challenges and opportunities of returning to Serbia after spending some time abroad.
The event concluded with an interactive session through BizKviz, allowing participants to test and reinforce their general knowledge in an engaging way.
