AmChamps, AmCham’s signature program, has opened its doors to the 11th generation of participants. This year, 20 young managers from AmCham member companies will work alongside 20 final-year university students the course.
At the event, AmChamps Coordinator Tina Kostić presented AmChamps values and innovations compared to previous years’ courses, such as more cooperation with program alumni and a greater focus on the mentor-mentee relationship. Milica Đoković and Danijela Maliković of British American Tobacco (BAT), the winning team of the10th generation of AmChamps, also spoke at the launch.
Stefan Lazarević, Chairman of the AmCham Board of Governors, delivered the keynote address and a lecture on leadership. He spoke about AmCham’s workings and brand-building, as well as the importance of the work-life balance.
Ana Bogićević of GiGroup moderated a creative workshop on mentorship. After an introductory exercise designed to help participants get to know each other, the attendees were divided into break-out manager-student groups. Each group created their ideal mentor or mentee using collages made from magazine and newspaper clippings.
Parallel sessions for students and managers were facilitated by Ivan Vučićević of Adecco and coaching expert Jelena Kralj. Ivan talked to the students about their first jobs, analyzing the job market from an employer’s perspective. Conversely, Jelena led an interactive coaching session with managers that emphasized responsibility in decision-making.
