The course is attended by 25 undergraduate and graduate students of public universities and as many young managers from AmCham member companies
The eighth round of AmChamps – Young Leaders in Change was officially launched this Monday. Over the coming year, student-manager mentoring pairs will work together to broaden their knowledge, extend their business networks, and improve their mentoring skills. Winners of this competitive course will have the opportunity to go on to join MBA and master’s courses offered by CITY College, University of York Europe Campus.
The participants were welcomed on behalf of AmCham by the heads of the course, Milica Samardžić, Regulatory Affairs and Education Manager, and Tina Kostić, Membership and Finance Manager. A speed dating session followed, where students and managers were given four minutes each to get to know each other. Their impressions and scores awarded after this round of introductions were fed into a mathematical algorithm that determined optimal to ideal mentoring pairs.
At the launch of the eighth round of the programme, Vera Nikolić Dimić, AmCham Executive Director, said recognising potentials of young people and helping them advance in their careers was key to helping the Serbian economy grow. ‘This is the eighth consecutive year that we’ve been giving exactly such chances to those selected to join our AmChamps course. Working together, with support from their knowledgeable mentors, over the coming year they will have opportunities to exchange ideas, engage in dialogue, and network with leading members of the Serbian business community and experts. They will improve their skills, form a clearer picture of what the business community is like, and will be ready to take leading positions within it’, she concluded.
