Briefing Session on the Implementation of the Law on Registration in the Cadastre

By AmCham  Published On 05/07/2018
State secretary Damnjanović initially presented reasons for adopting this law, such as the inefficiency and incompatibility of the Republic Geodetic Authority, the extent of residual objects, as well as weak and limited rights of access and inappropriate data distribution.
Undoubtedly, the main goal of the new law is increasing the legal security of real estate owners, as well as that of third parties who trust the data in the registry. According to state secretary Damnjanović, this should be achieved by raising the efficiency and updating the Cadastre Service through the so called electronic counter or eCounter. She mentioned that requests for signing up can be submitted in paper document form until December 31, 2020, after which it will only be possible in electronic form.
In the second part of this event, the state secretary answered AmCham company representatives’ questions. For a full list of questions and official answers of the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure, please follow this link.
