A seminar titled “EU Omnibus: Sustainability Under New Rules” was held at the AmCham Serbia premises. The event brought together experts and industry representatives to discuss the latest changes in EU legislation concerning sustainable business practices, with a particular focus on the European Commission’s proposals aimed at simplifying and reducing the scope of regulations.
The seminar covered key regulations such as the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive), CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), and the EU Taxonomy. Through detailed discussions, experts analyzed the real-world effects of these changes on companies operating in Serbia, as well as the strategies they are adopting to adjust to the new legislative frameworks.
Speakers at the seminar included Srđana Petronijević, Johannes Frank, Nina Rašljanin, and Ana Mihaljević from the law firm Schoenherr, Uroš Milosavljević from KPMG, and Kim Watts from AmCham EU. They provided an in-depth overview of the challenges and opportunities presented by these regulations, as well as expectations for further simplifications in EU legislation.
The event offered an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and strategies among companies and experts, aimed at better preparing for the challenges and changes brought by aligning with EU legislation in the field of sustainable business.
