Marriot International to build resort in Serbia

By AmCham  Published On 19/05/2021
The signing ceremony was attended by the US Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey and Serbian prime Minister Ana Brnabić. ‘This investment will revive Southern Serbia and will signify a better future, where new investors will generate jobs that will ensure livelihoods and greater living standards’, said Prime Minister Brnabić, thanking the Serbian and US companies for undertaking this venture.

Ambassador Godfrey noted this was a watershed moment in the trading and cultural relationship between Serbia and the US, adding that projects such as this showed the economy was recovering from the pandemic.

The first stage of the works, including the first hotel, should be finished in 2023, and the fourth and final one is slated for completion in 2026. The 90-million-euro project will generate 350 jobs.
