Telecom operator A1 Serbia has earmarked nine million dinars for projects aimed at children as part of their Svet Kakav Želiš (‘The World as You Want It to Be’) programme. Three activities – in public health, education, and environmental protection – received three million dinars each.
Zaigrani (‘Playful’), an initiative launched by the Participatory Education Development Centre and aimed at providing Serbian nursery schools with innovative, environmentally friendly toys, received funding as part of the education component. Logo’s Early Intervention App, intended to help parents track their children’s development, was awarded in the public heath category. Bašta Može Svašta (‘Gardening for Good’) was recognised in the environmental category for its activity Zasadimo Život Zajedno (‘Let’s Plant Life Together’), which seeks to help children with cancer by growing healthy food.
‘The community we live in is increasingly coming up with ideas that can drive meaningful change, and we’re here to support them and help them put those plans into practice. Our socially responsible programme The World as You Want It to Be has supported three projects that are already active, and public health, education, and environmental protection will remain key areas of our society in which we will seek to promote important change’, said Ana Boroš Todić, Corporate Communication Expert at A1 Serbia.
To roll out The World as You Want It to Be, A1 partnered with Propulsion, and the winning projects were selected by a team of public health, education, and environmental protection experts.
