Representatives from the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Zorica Vulić and Nikola Novović, and the National Employment Service, Snežana Nekvasil i Biljana Ljubisavljević presented to AmCham members Amendments to the Law on Foreigners and Employment of Foreigners.
In the first time in four years, draft amendments of tax regulations have been open to public discussion with the business sector, and AmCham members had a chance in direct discussion with the Assistant Minister of Finance Dragan Demirović and members of his team to hear explanation of the Amendments to the Law on Property Taxes, make comments and point to problems from practice.
AmCham members’ representatives had a chance to discuss, during drafting, Amendments on the Law on Enforcement and Security, which is planned to be implemented by the Government, by the end of 2018. Representatives are actively involved in the process of formatting the Amendments on this Law, and the Round-table was a great opportunity to make members familiar with the main intentions of the amendments in an early phase, as well as to influence its content.
During a three-day training session on Illicit Trade Over the Internet representatives from the Tax Administration, Tax Police and Trade Inspection, had a chance to hear useful information from Branko Stamenković, Deputy Republic Prosecutor and Dragan Jovanović, Deputy Head of Department of High-Tech Crime from the Ministry of the Interior.
State secretary in the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Aleksandra Damnjanović presented to AmCham members a new Law on Registration in the Cadastre, was adopted on May 25th, 2018, and answered members’ questions about its future implementation
Assistant Secretary-General, from Commissioner’s Office for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Nevena Ružić, presented to AmCham members elementary postulates of harmonization with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in relation to work.
In cooperation with the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics (FREN), AmCham organized promotion of the 51st issue of the Quarterly Monitor, published by the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade and FREN.
For several years in a row, AmCham has supported one of the biggest competitions for young lawyers in the BG Open Pre – Moot, a preparatory tournament in the field of international trade law and international arbitration law.
In cooperation with the FEFA Faculty, AmCham organized a lecture on blockchain technology and the business and benefits that the company can achieve by using this technology.
