The American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham) will be led over the next two years by Ana Drašković, Vice President and General Manager of Visa for Southeast Europe, who has been elected President of the Board of Governors.
At the General Assembly, representatives of AmCham member companies, in addition to electing the President, selected seven other members of the Board. Darko Popović, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Banca Intesa, will serve as First Vice President for a second term. Siniša Daničić, Head of Representative Office of Atlantic Grupa in Serbia, has been appointed Second Vice President in the new term.
In strong competition, the following were elected as members of the Board of Governors for the next two years: Miloš Vučković (Karanović & Partners), Predrag Panić (Yettel Bank), Rosanda Milatović Skorić (OTP Banka Srbije), Saša Marković (Coca-Cola HBC Srbija i Crna Gora), and Sandra Marinković (MSD).
Concluding his four-year term as President of the Board, Stefan Lazarević highlighted that the year marking AmCham’s 25th anniversary represents an important moment to reflect on the results achieved together with members and partners:
“I am proud that today AmCham is the most influential independent business association, with the largest number of member companies since its establishment and a significant contribution to improving Serbia’s business environment. In recent years, we have further strengthened our international role by intensifying economic relations between Serbia and the United States, fostering a more active dialogue with European institutions, and enhancing the competitiveness of Serbian companies,” Lazarević stated, adding:
“I am confident that the new leadership will continue, through open and fact-based dialogue, to contribute to institutional reforms, the strengthening of the rule of law, and the acceleration of Serbia’s European integration.”
AmCham’s strength and influence are best reflected in the fact that it now brings together more than 270 U.S., international, and domestic companies operating in Serbia, which have invested over EUR 14 billion and employ more than 119,000 people in the country.
Newly elected President Ana Drašković thanked outgoing President Stefan Lazarević for the outstanding results achieved during his term, as well as AmCham members for their dedication and contribution to improving the business climate in Serbia.
“For 25 years, AmCham has been a credible and respected voice. Talent, innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability are the essential drivers of long-term economic progress. In that spirit, continued support for Serbia’s EU integration process will remain highly important, as it represents the foundation for progress in areas crucial to the sustainable development of the local economy. In the period ahead, we will continue to build trust, credibility, and partnership in order to honor AmCham’s legacy and shape its future,” Drašković emphasized.
In a year when the United States marks 250 years of independence and AmCham Serbia celebrates 25 years of existence, Aleksandar Titolo, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Serbia, addressed the AmCham community, stating that for more than two decades AmCham has been a strong and reliable partner of the U.S. Embassy and has played a key role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
“Together, we are working to improve the business environment and create opportunities that contribute to Serbia’s long-term prosperity. As we enter a new era of U.S.–Serbia relations, we rely on the expertise, leadership, and energy of the AmCham community to further deepen our cooperation. Many of the companies present here tonight — American, Serbian, and international — have made significant investments across the broader region, contributing to development and fostering economic ties that promote stability. For us, Serbia’s long-term trajectory is very clear: a supportive and open business environment and strong relations with the United States,” Titolo said.
