In anticipation of the upcoming EU Artificial Intelligence Act
The event was prompted by the introduction of the AI Act, a regulation that establishes a framework for the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Speakers Andrea Nikolić, an assistant at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, and Tamara Zavišić, founder of etik.ai, highlighted the legal aspects and ethical dilemmas associated with the use of AI technologies, as well as the obligations it imposes. The discussion covered various institutions and companies that may be affected by these regulations, as well as strategies to overcome the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. The dialogue aimed to clearly define all associated risks.
Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the methodology for assessing and classifying IT systems that either partially or fully utilize AI tools into specific risk levels.
Finally, several examples and case studies illustrated the risk level when AI is used merely for informational purposes versus when decisions are made based on AI recommendations.
